Has anyone tried flying with A/C gauges and misc. bushings and fittings?

Tomorrow morning, I'm flying out to buy a pickup truck in another town and drive it back home. I wanted to bring a set of A/C gauges and hoses plus the bushings and fittings in my luggage needed so that I can recharge the A/C on the truck for my drive home.

Should these pose a problem to the airline checkin with my luggage?

I think you should be ok, worse case they open it up and see that there is no bomb in there. I had it happen once when I had a ton of random chargers and wires in my bag.

Don't bring the refills, and you'll be OK. If you check it, expect your luggage to get opened up. That will show strange enough to warrant a closer look.

Yeah, I'm expecting to get searched and questions asked and stuff.

I'm not bringing cans of freon...that would be quite bad
