I had a similar thing done at the Foot Solutions store by my house. They set me up with some good arch supports and my heel spur has all but disappeared in a few weeks.
It's amazing what the right shoes and inserts can do.

ok, I just went to a local walgreens and tried the test.

it's a pretty short test IMO and I don't really think it accurately measured what my foot needs. Also, the solution it recommends cost $50! I think it's a complete ripoff but I went ahead and got one anyways just to see if it'll be worth it.

my first impression after trying it on is that it feels as comfortable as my old $20 ones so now I feel guilty about paying so much for them. now, I won't really know they're worth it until a week of testing them in normal day to day wear. until then, it's a good product, but not worth the money.

I have tried the pressure map.. seems very cheesy.. I ended up getting some <a href="http://www.orthoticshop.com/custom_select_insoles">Amfit CustomSelect</a> orthotics instead from www.orthoticshop.com.. instead of 14 models there are 80 models available. So with more choices available you know you are getting something closer to custom orthotics in an over the counter solution than with dr scholls.
