Has anyone tried 99-Minute CDR's?

I saw a pack of these at CompUSA yesterday. They were packaged under the CompUSA brand, and supposedly hold 99 minutes/870MB. I forget the price.

Has anyone tried these out? Do they really hold that much data? Do I need a special burner or reader to use such discs?

Thanks in advance.

Never uses em myself, but they do require a drive that is capable of writing to them. Some newer drives are capable, but I would check to make sure before you buy em. Also most CD drives won't read em, so that limits their usefulness too.

I would be careful too, I bought 2 spindles of CompUSA cd-r's and they sucked. I had asked the kid working there if they were good, and said that he used them all the time. I've burnt all coasters, even trying to use the different spindles.

They're only compatable with certain drives, and for that matter I haven't heard of a drive that can actually use all the space on them. The last time I checked was before 24x drives came out... but the best 16x's could only use up to 89 minutes on them.
