Has anyone tipped??

From a garage, dealership or similar??

I saw a motorbike advertised in Japan a Black Honda Bros 400 MKII, no registration, no Tax, no MOT, sat in a garage for 10-ish years with 9k kilometers??..£900?? ? yes please!!

A foolish purchase???

?.Well truth be told, for a few notes Bike Direct Bristol imported it, registered it (oh, nice new booklet V5), taxed for 12 months and gave it a new MOT ? It didn?t stop there; New tyres, new pads, new sparks, FULL service including carb? re-build & fuel lines ? new fluids all round (including forks and coolants) and a very professional kph-mph conversion. (and a nice, clean valet) for £200

Total time from Deposit down to bike delivery to work address = 5 working days!!

I gave them £100 for sorting out everything so fast, efficiently, friendly - I work in a heavily focussed customer service area and I was blown away with how this was way above any beyond what I expected

The work which I now want to carry out is:

A mini nose-fairing similar to that of Dimitri Bracke?s 1988 Hawk GT

A custom built exhaust ? Buell type-ish (hopefully by Griff of Reality Motors ? I suppose I could use them to fit a stage 3 carb kit with a K&N as they have a dyno room for proper adjustments, hell why not Powder coat the original three spokes to a matt black??

I haven?t yet decided on a theme, all I?ve got is ?mean!? I might try out a few carbon fibre replacements, tank, fender, sub-frame? To see if get any ideas.

The bike will be used EVERYday, will be my main transport, and all conversions will be with the least of amount of money spent.

I tip a lot like that.
I have an idea in my head about how much something will cost and if i get really good service for a lot less I make up some of the difference.

Makes me feel good about my purchase.
🙂

I tried once. They told me it wasn't necessary, I told him to at least take the guys out for a beer (good laugh as I left). Next time I came in there was a free oil change on my account. I like the local shops, good guys, reasonable price.

that's why it was a first for me.

I think 'WelshBloke' summed it up quiet well
