Has anyone taken any ADD medication?

i took stratera. it made me absolutely ill. it helped for a few days but eventually stopped working (lost focus on things). you are supposed to build up a dose of that drug up to 60mg i believe. i never made it past 18mg. it made me feel absolutely sick. i felt dizzy and nauseous during the day and couldn't eat. i stopped using it after two weeks.

i eventually came to the conclusion that ADD is bull. its all in your head. try it though, see if it works for you. i taught myself to stay on task and to get things done. i still procrastinate a lot though, i am right now. i feel like i work better that way, not sure why.

I took it many years ago in grade school, it made me feel like a damn zombie, I could concentrate in class and all, but it made me feel like ******. After a while when my parents would force me to take it, I would hide it under my tongue and spit it out when they werent looking I hated it that much.

I tend to agree with you, and believe it has more to do with the pharmeceutical companies overprescribing unneeded medicati---OOOH SHINY THING!

word i also believe this.. kids are supposed to run around and stuff...
I've taken Concerta, Sratera, Adderall, Adderall XR, and Ritalin.. Adderall seemed to work best, but you should know that it is an amphetamine. I'm not going to get into the details but do a google search. The only ones that really worked on me were stimulants, but its not good to take stimulants regularly.

ADD is a bunch of bull shiet, my cousin has "ADD" but I swear to god it's got to be something else because every other person I've encountered that has god ADD are so much more normal compared to my cousin, infact I can't really tell that "they have ADD". My cousin on the other hand, I'm not sure what is wrong with him be he sure is a fscked up kid.

I have ADD

I noticed 99.9% of people had it too when I was talking a literature course at the university.

Well, of course you noticed it. I'd show symptoms of it too if I had to write up papers on such utter piles of sh!t as The Scarlet Letter. I'd much rather be doing almost anything else...

I was diagnosed ADD when I was a kid. I took Cylert. I woke up one morning and decided I didn't need the medicine anymore. I guess it is okay. BTW, Cylert was pulled off of the market because of all of the liver damage it caused.

How many kids with ADD does it take to change a lightbulb?

Real, honest to G-d adult ADD here. I took Strattera for a for a few weeks and it had some bizarre side effects you don't want to know about....these days I take Concerta, which works well enough. I find if I take it for more than 5 days in a row it loses its effectiveness and I have to lay off for a couple days. I'm unquestionably more focused and productive when I'm on it, but I'm a lot more fun when I'm not.

That's what I'm worried about. I definitely feel I could be kicking a lot more ass if I could stay focused.

I have this theory...no facts, just theory...that ADD is totally and completely DIET RELATED (with the exception of kids whose parents did lots of drugs when they were in the womb)
