Has anyone switched from Word to WordPerfect

I just set up a trial version of WP 10 to see if it is worth buying. I'm currently running Office 97 under Win 2K, but since it now crashes all the time, it may be worth the $20 to get an OEM disk. Obviously, most of my docs are in Word format, so I just changed the default in WP.

Has anyone had any problems or annoyances making the switch from Office?

I have used both and they are similar in a lot of ways. Both have far more features than I would probably ever use. They only advantage Word has in my opinion is that Word documents are compatible with more computers since more computers run Microsoft Word than Wordperfect.

But have you had any trouble with documents saved in Word format under WP?

Yeah, they are supposed to open in Wordperfect but I don't think the formatting is perfect so it can be a pain in the butt fixing all the stuff that Wordperfect didn't interpret correctly.

You could try Openoffice 1.1 I believe it is. It is free and works just fine with Word, Excel documents and spreadsheets etc.

My computer came with MS Works with MS Word. I installed just Word and use OpenOffice for everything else.
