I am getting fed up with FIOS just constantly increasing my prices. My bill has gone up from $211 to $225 for no reason. I have 2 set top boxes with DVR and gigabit internet.
Now the things I do like about having FIOS TV is the simplicity of it. I like being able to turn my TV on and it's just "on" quickly and I can go into the DVR and get to things quickly. I like just pushing power on my TV and having background noise.
Now, I don't know if I like it nearly $50/month more though.
I just priced it out, and gigabit internet through them is $90/mo and YouTube TV is $83/mo ($70/mo for first 6 months).
So it would be $172 (initially $160) a month instead of $225.
My 2 TV's upstairs are smart TVs so the apps are easy to get on there. Right now downstairs I have a projector with a set top box to watch TV. I would have to either turn on PS5 or something to get to TV service if I went with YouTube TV, or I don't know if they make standalone boxes like Roku that are "always on" so it would be similar to FIOS set top boxes. One thing I do when I work down here in the morning is I turn my AVR on without the projector, and just listen to a sports talk radio show that is broadcast on TV. So I'm not sure if I could do that with YTTV or not.
I am just curious if anyone made the jump, and if so, anything they like/dislike about the changes and what took getting used to.
