Has anyone slapped an CoolerMaster Aero7 drum fan onto a big HS?

I've found a review of the Aero 7 and they even go so far as testing the copper HS by removing the drum fan and replacing it with an axial fan. However, I don't know why unless by agreement with CoolerMaster that they didn't mount the Aero7 fan onto the likes of a Thermalright SLK-900 or even the Swiftech they used in their testing.

I expect that others will bring some knock-offs to the marketplace. In time I expect many "drum-like" fans to appear.

Squirrel cage is the general term, BTW, and they are nothing new. There have been a few here and there constantly, from HS mods for the PII/III and slot Athlons to the likes of the Noise Control Silverado. I don't know if it is true in general, but the Nidec Gammas blew air much better than their axial counterparts when on heatsinks. In general they work well, but are expensive for what they are and are tricky to design around.
