Has anyone seen the Deftones in a club?

I bought tickets for their 10/20 show at the 9:30 Club in D.C. and I am curious what to expect...I haven't been to this club in quite a while...since 1999 if I remember correctly...

not to ruin your trip, but all 3 times I saw them live they were fvcking TERRIBLE, especially in a smaller venue. It's not really the music, it's that Chino is so fvcking wasted he can barely make it through the songs. And as of late, carpenter's fat fingers can only strive for open power chords.

Deftones started off great iwth adrenaline and finally stopped making good records after white pony.

I saw them at the Edge in Palo Alto CA in 96 they rocked...
Hunger
Def Tones
Korn
all on a haloween eve in a tiny club...
talk about insane

I've seen them plenty of times. I probably havn't seen them live since 1997 or so.
Back in the mid 90s they were definatly rockin', and were a pleasure to see. Since then I've heard they have really been sucking the big one and pale in comparison to their true rocker days.

Either way check it out, should be cool. Unless you paid over $20 bucks to see them, because that would be a ripoff.

Sooo... you didn't like "Deftones?" That's the only album they made after "White Pony." So they suck because you don't like their latest album? Fvcking bandwagon fans. Don't bother.

Manzelle, I saw them not long ago here in KC and they were awesome. I've loved them both times I've seen them live: once in an amphitheatre and once in a concert hall (not a big one). A club would be just incredible.

Do you understand that he is critisizing them from a technical musical aspect? He is right, the technical abilities of the band has been consistantly decreasing.

...and you're telling me ANY of the songs on Adrenaline were technical? Shut up. The new album was suprisingly good. If you're worried about technicality, go blare some Yngwie.

The Deftones were INSANE live during the first 2 albums, then I think they all turned into hardcore alcoholics/stoners. Around the white pony time they were so incoherent onstage it was a joke. I'm hoping they cleaned up their act a bit(it seems like it, cuz the new album was pretty good), because I would love to see them rock out like they used to.

People have been whispering about Chino's love of alcohol for the last 5 or 6 years and how much it has grown. I seem to recall an Alternative Press story back in 99 or 98 regarding this very subject.

Don't bother sampson, this is usually the way someone reacts when you give them hard truth about their favorite band 😛

I saw them at Ozzfest prolly 1999 (I think that's when they were on Ozzfest). I thought they sucked nuts. They were definitely getting booed and what not.
