http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ted-cruz-mailer-2016-election_us_56b7fa37e4b08069c7a7c48c

A New Jersey resident sent The Huffington Post the latest piece of mail he received from Cruz's campaign. The envelope appears to have come from Cruz's Senate office and has his name printed the same way it often is for Senate business. In small type the mailer clarifies that it is for "personal" matters and was not sent at taxpayers' expense. It also promises a check.

The New Jersey voter who received the mailer and asked not to be named said the "misleading" letter would be enough to "fool my mother-in-law."

The Cruz campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.

I could have sworn I got something like this from Bush's campaign before in 2004 and I just dismissed it as trash but is it more common? Have you seen mailers like this?

Cruz is a dishonest slimeball. We see this again and again. Evangelicals love him. You do the math.

Watch Ted Cruz say his taste in music changed after 9/11.
clip from Young Turks

He is possibly the most fake person ever.
I was sincerely surprised when Politifact ranked Cruz as only the third most dishonest POTUS candidate, behind Carson and Trump. Perhaps he's simply more skilled as a professional liar compared to the noobs.

Here's another mailer he sent out in Iowa.

Wow, is that real? I guess it isn't technically considered a federal violation because those aren't real voting records, but it baffles me that Cruz would insinuate that he is privy to illegal information in order to guilt trip the electorate.

o_O

EDIT: Ah, it isn't illegal: (At least, the act of voting is a matter of record)

Looks like Cruz is copy-pasting from within the same circle of scumbags, incl. Gov Scott of FL.

The fake check is a staple of junk-mail.

Of course, you expect better of people you vote for... or at least you want to expect better of them.

The question then becomes, did politician X decide to use misrepresentation/almost-fraud, or did his campaign manager ask a staffer to get an intern to call up a marketing company to get one of their interns to get one of their middle-managment monkeys to pull a canned mailer from their files?

The fake check is also what televangelist scum use to scam their dedicated followers.

It's quite shrewd of Cruz: he knows that the people who (would) support him are the very same type of true-believers that follow Tilton, et al, and are quite familiar with this model of "support."

Hell, those people are so stupid they probably assume this is some sort of tithe. :D

Wow!...Now personally, if I received a letter like that from a politician I modestly supported, I'd be strongly tempted to show up and vote against him. While the Cruz campaign is knowledgeable about techniques for manipulating the public, they lack a certain social intelligence. In other words, they are creeps.

For a guy who likes to bash government overreaching, can rightly be called a dick when he pulls a Big Brother scare scam on voters.

Lol, it didn't lie. The check is for you to send to him. I knew he seemed a lot like a tele-evangelist. This proves that he actually is.

I gave Scott Walker 50 bucks in like 2008 and Bush 50 in 2004, and to this day I get crap like this all the time. Stop Mailing me Ron Johnson!

On the plus side, I did get the official white house christmas card for about 4 straight years. My mom liked those

Cruz isn't the guy. Slimy as hell.

Well he did hire as a campaign manager a fine guy from missouri who led a whisper campaign that a republican running for office was Jewish (he wasn't).

I am glad to see the general consensus that Cruz is a slime ball.

I mean, really, can anyone vote for a guy that was born without lips, for president? ;)
