God damn I want to see this movie so bad, but it's not playing ANYWHERE. Has anyone seen it? Every single review I've read of it has called it the greatest movie they've ever seen and always ends up bashing the MPAA. Even Harry from Aint-it-cool-news loved it. He's the one who is notorious for calling movies "steaming piles of dogshit" :D

So? Anyone?

I've heard it's good and it's playing in my area. No time to see it though. I'd have to say that the idea of a lesbian scene (and rather explicit I hear too) with Jennifer Connelly sounds absolutely ... wow.

If you don't live in a big cultural centre such as New York, L.A.
or Toronto you're probably not going to find it in theatres.
However, it probably won't take long for the film to be released
on DVD due to it's limited run in the theatres.

I've seen that part of the movie and it's more unpleasant than
arousing since Jennifer's character is hitting an incredible
personal low and is painfully aware of it.

Lucky for me, it is playing in the DC area, but unlucky for me, my wife probably will use her movie veto agaisnt it. :-( We both saw and liked Pi (Aronofsky's previous movie), but the subject matter of RfaD is a little dark for her tastes...

well that's because you are looking at her as a person rather then an object........

/me running and hiding behind desk screaming "I'm kidding" while various anandtecher women throw heavy objects.......

Soulflare, impressive.

Ratkil, I'd throw stuff at your sexist little self, but I'd be afraid to 'cause I'm pretty sure the ricochet off the rubber on your walls is a dangerous thing. :p

Back from the dead...

I just came back from seeing it, it finally arrived here, and to my dismay will only be here for a week. Its leaving tomorrow was my main reason for going to see it on a Tuesday night. Anyway...it was fantastic. Probably one of the greatest movies I've seen in a LONG time, but also one of the most disturbing. It's one of those movies that is most definately not for the weak-stomached, but it sure does have a point to it. I'm definately glad I saw it...has anyone else seen it? What'd you think?

EDIT

And for anyone in Atlanta who's interested in seeing it...it's only playing at the LeFont Garden Hills cinema on Peachtree, right down the street from Barnes and Noble and Sushi Rock. Leaving tomorrow, FYI...

I want to see this movie before it leaves Boston, but it's only in one theater, and it's far from my work/home.

For a complete mind f#$%, you should go to http://requiemforadream.com/
it's the movie's official web site, and I must say it's one of the most interesting sites that I have seen in quite a while. It makes you think about Internet addiction since the movie goes into many other types of addictions as well.

*note* the site is really really screwy, and it tries to make it look like your system is hacked/crashed. Very inventive methinks.
