I have a pair of Zero.5's that have broken in the center(now there are two halves) They are over a year old. I email them and they said for me to send them in with a check for $19 and they would see if they could fix them. The lens is all one piece and there's no way to fix them unless they got a new lens. What would you do? Would I get my $19 back if they couldn't fix them?

Update: I'm going to bump this from the bottom. I received a brand new pair of Zero.5 today. I was amazed. I would recommend these to anyone. This company should be #1 in customer satisfaction of any company.

My father has sent his M-Frames in twice to be fixed. Both times he got a fresh pair of frames back without problem. Them not being able to fix them is not an issue, if they can't fix them they'll just send you new frames.

My brother found a pair at a softball game. He broke them in half after a while and just took them to a suglasses store and they gave him a free pair.

I'm amazed how often people break them...I've had mine for over 4 years without problem.

I've got m-frames, a-wires, and OO's. One time i broke the a-wires while skiing and they replaced them without a problem. Sunglass Hut used to replace them right there in the store but i don't think they do that anymore.

i used to have a pair of m frames as well and never had any problems, but i do know that oakley is a very reputable company and insures their product unconditionally, so you should have no problems getting some new frames from them, thats just something they would do.

hehe, I'm amazed at people who pay so much for Oakleys when you can get fakes that look the exact same for 10 or 15 bucks. :)

It's not just how they look - it's how things look through them. For many occasions, I wear a cheap pair. But when you're cruising down The Saddle from the peak of Whistler at excessive speed, being able to see through the glare and the shadows is key. Man, I've gotta get back there somehow...

These O.5's that I have are very light(I dont even know I have them on) and the clarity is perfect. I'll send them and If they cant fix them I'll just stop payment on the check I guess.

mm.. Whistler.
:D! Gotta love having it in my backyard. How long till ski season?!
( ;) too bad I only have money for Cypress/Seymour. Maybe I can con my parents to throw money at me so I can go to Whistler, or even Big White - IMO much better than Whister).

As for Oakley's, I've sent some in before, and they came back with the same lenses, and a new frame. Nice service.

i loved my oakleys, but i since bought a pair of costa del mar's that are polarized....if u thought oakleys were clear, take a look through a pair of these....glare is non existant!! go try a pair and just walk outside w/ them on and look at some reflective surface...then slowly tilt your head side to side and notice how much difference it is!

Hmmmn, this is giving me some ideas :)

But it's nice to know that if I mess up my two Oakleys i'm covered.

BTW, let me get this right.

If something is wrong with your Oakleys you just send it in and pay for the shipping yourself? and if everything goes right you will either get your Oakleys fixed or the offending part/frame replaced?

How about models that are more than a couple of years old? I've got some old M Frames for general use and some SubZeros (dark blue and super cool!) for everything else. They must have a huge inventory, yes? Or has anyone ever had to accept another model because they didn't have replacement glasses?

Thanks.

I have some M-Frames that are like 5+ yrs old. They have broke twice in that 5 yrs. They get hairline cracks along the top, but in that 5 yrs I have had them replaced 2 times no prob. The first time they were just under a yr and covered by warrenty. The second time they were over 4 yrs old but they waved the 19 dollars because they broke just like the first time..hairline cracks across the top. The pair I have now seem to be better no cracks yet. Send the glasses off with the 19 bucks and they will send u a new pair. Make sure you use fedex or ups....perferr fedex just use there 3 day air its not very expensive, and make sure you have the tracking #. This way you can track it to the oakly warehouse. DONOT use the post office!!! Oakley has awsome CS and have never screwed anyone that I know when sending back broken glasses....unlike RAYBAN!!

Anyway gotta go l8r all

The quality is lacking though. They shouldnt have to replace them so often. I had a pair of Jackets, I really liked them after 3 months the arms broke through normal wear and nothing else. I sent the arms into Oakley with $9.00 and got new arms. They broke 4 months later with very limits wear. I think that if they concentrated on the quality of their product they would have less problems maybe make spending that much money actually worth it?

I have a quick question
I bought my A-wires a year ago. I hardly use them. The thing is that the frame does not sit well and is a little crooked. Its not noticeable but you can feel it.
Is this good enough reason to have the store or Oakley itself look at the pair?

Yeah, I paid the $19-20fee for a replacement on the M frame which went split down the middle, but was already past the 1yr warranty which is pretty nice, instead of having to buy the new frame at original price. It's a great eyewear for strenuous activities. I just wish they had a small replacement fee for the lens as well. It's a good but expensive product tho.

Because when you have the connections, you can get the real ones for the same price as the fake ones.

I have E wires I got about 4.5 years ago (graduation present). I bent one of the ear pieces pretty bad and sent em back to Oakley. $14 was the price then. They fixed whatever was wrong, installed new nose ear pieces (the rubber over the frame) and gave me a new bag. I think they call it reconditioning or something like that. Whatever it is, it's worth the $14 ($19 now it sounds like) even if the glasses aren't broken for the service.

Every 3 months, Oakley has a private sale, prices are at least 75% off. They are usually older models. For instance I got a pair of Mars Crater X-Metals for $50, some Pro M Frames for $15 each, a bunch of M Frame lenses @ $5 each. I got a Ballistic Jacket for $50. ShoeThree's were $25.

Also, employees get discounts (obviously), but the discounts are not as extreme (but then they can buy whatever they want too).

For those that live in Orange County, California, Oakley is located in Foothill Ranch. So if they do break, it maybe easier just to drop them off or something. They have a store there too (retail price), and the building itself is pretty cool.
