I had one of mine out about a month ago. I'm 29, and I've got all my wisdom teeth worn down to the gumline. Why didn't I get them pulled before? Never hurt, and I DREAD going to the dentist. Local anasthetic, and that sucker was out in about 2 minutes by a dentistry student. Didn't feel a thing.
Only reason I got it pulled was because it started aching about 3PM Sunday. By midnight, I had eaten every damn pill in the house, soaked the tooth in whiskey, OraGel, and every other think I could get my hands on. A little bit of cocaine works well, you mix it with a few drops of water to form a paste, which you apply to the inside of the tooth, and the surrounding gums. Not trying to advocate drug use here, this is strictly medicinal.
Only way I could get it to stop hurting was smashing my forehead on the desk every 15 minutes. It was a looooong night........

Hurt so bad my vision went blurry.
Now, I've also heard that tea tree oil will deaden tooth pain, but haven't tried it yet. My father, however, has tried it, and said the pain went away totally before he was done applying it. That was several years ago, and the tooth is still there, but has not made it's presence felt again.
The other 3 wisdom teeth are coming out in the next week or so, cause I'm not going to go thru another night like I had with the first one.
Get them out when they aren't bothering you, cause when they do act up, you'd rather be dead. When he pulled this tooth, it was such a shock to not feel the pain anymore that I passed out in the chair..........rofl
Sorry this is a book, it's late, and I tend to ramble......
