Has anyone received their Windows 7 Student Backup Disk yet?

I haven't... it has been about a week now, the disk is still not here. Anyone else get it in the mail yet? Also, for anyone who has got it in, did it ship through UPS, FedEX, or through regular USpostal? Thanks in advance.

And what I mean by "student" I'm referring to the Windows 7 deal for college students where you can purchase Windows7 for 30 bucks.

Mine "shipped" on the 5th of November. And if you guys ordered it 10/22 and just now received it, means I won't be getting mine until the end of November or early December. That is really lame.

I got the 64bit edition, which according to Microsoft, REQUIRES the backup disk. I can't initiate the installer from within Windows XP like the 32bit edition. This really annoys me, and quite frankly I'm pissed. This is far to long to be waiting for something like this.

You can create the backup disc form the download. Initiating the 64-bit installer from within XP is not necessary. That was one of the big issues that came up at release, but eventually people discovered how to get around it.

Why is it so difficult!!!!

Old thread but still an issue.

I bought from Digital River the ISO download for Windows 7 last year and haven't a freaking clue on how to easily do an install on a PC - whether it be on a wiped hard-drive (which we just had to do for my son's PC since he did some creative Registry editing and it crashed), or after a NEW Windows XP install, or what ever.

I would rather do it from a USB 8GB thumb-drive if possible....

Any and ALL assistance appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

I have followed their direction and every time I get a message at the end that says it has problems with "unable to run bootsect to make the USB device bootable." It has reformatted it twice now...

Thoughts?
