I just picked it up, pretty interesting stuff. Actually analyzing how to achieve the computational capacity of the human brain, software of human intelligence, reverse enginnering the brain.

Nanotech, robotics, he just covers a slew of topics. Only read some of the brain stuff so far. I think he believes that eventually we'll become like a Borg Collective or something like that, and he's serious. I find that interesting, but don't agree with it.

Worth a look :D

No. However, I did read Marooned in Realtime by Vernor Vinge, where he tells the story of the Singularity and what happens to those who "missed" it. Great book.

Yes, very interesting stuff (but hardly original). It's worth reading just to get your mind thinking about future possibilites.
