Has anyone read the new Stephen Hawking book?

Its called The Universe in a Nutshell and people say its good. I reservced it at the library, but since I am 228th in a line of 239, I am thinking of buying it.

Yeah, I got it a few months back. I have to say I wasn't really that impressed, there were lots of fancy pictures but not much actual information.

Even though a brief history of time was written for the lay person you could tell that this one was just designed so that even people who don't understand a word of what is being written could still look at all the pretty pictures.

I don't think so. Last I heard, he was still pretty alive, giving lectures and writing books.

He's still very much alive. He wanted to put a picture of Marilyn Monroe in the book as example of a heavenly body, but didn't. He's alright.
