HI,
I have an HP Pavilion 8693-- which is NOT in the list of win2k devices that have BIOS updates on the windows wite. I called HP and they said in general they don't support win2k...... but I want to install it, I hate how win 98 crashes all the time. Anyone know what to do? When I try to install win2k it says pretty much everything (even the monitor) is incompatible with it. Then I continued (what do i have to lose, reformat?), and it froze on the first restart. So I restarted and it tried to do setup and I got this odd blue screen that said it could not boot... 'uninstall new hard drive if you installed one' etc . I got this twice (it said restart if this is the first time, take out cd and consult manual if this has happened more than once). So I gave up.
Any ideas on what the deal is? Can I not use win2k?
Thanks
Goldie
