I just feel awkward asking. Its basically telling them you dont want their gift and want to get something else. If someone did that to me I would feel its a slap in the face and would think twice about going out of my way to get them a gift in the future.

Then return it to them and tell them you really appreciate it but you already have it. Why didn't you say something when they gave it to you?

I just figured I could sell it pretty easily. I thought heroes was a pretty popular show. I'm sorry but I am not a person that is going to hand something back to someone - that IMO is disrespectful.
I am also moving out of state for 2 months for training for my job. They are not paying for anything so I have to come up with some extra money to pay for a 2 month rental plus my mortgage here in NY.

Did you actually get this with the XBox deal though and are now trying to return it?
That's happening a lot right now.

most likely everyone has their heroes hd-dvd now because of the 360 deal at best buy/buy.com/amazon. if that's the case, the gift receipts won't give the full retail of the set. it will show as a penny. your best chance right now of unloading that set is on ebay or craigslist.
