Banks and credit unions normally sell them. I've found that non-manufacturer warranties have negotiable prices since they almost always exclude anything that might realistically go wrong with the car.

Daimler/Chrysler wants $2k to extend my 3year/36k miles bumper to bumper on my 02 Dakota, to a 7/70 bumper to bumper. I already have the 7/100 driveline plan that came with the truck so I told them I'll pass on it.

when i bought my tundra they offered me the toyota gold waranty i think it was called 7 yr 100k bumper to bumper for i believe 2500..i got hem down to 1250 they had to call the manager over they couldnt figure out how to overide the computer to let them enter that low a price this is toyota warranty not dealer, independent or credit union warranty😛

i was shocked they let me low ball them considering i had purchased the tundra 100 bucks over invoice with a 1500 rebate from toyota

Yep, always dicker for extended warranties. They are a cash cow for the seller.

I bought one for my 2002 BMW E46 M3 before i shipped it from germany to here in hawaii. It was $1,450 for 3 years from BMW, and the car had 4,100 miles on it. Oh and don't get one if you plan to do anything to the car, cause then its just a waste of money. Which was the case for me once i started modifying it. So just be careful.
