Who has Prayed and gotten results that couldn't have been explained by 'chance' or natural process?
 
Not sure but I don't agree with people who think prayer alone will solve anything... if anything, pray and at least do something on your own!
 
I prayed, and the problem solved.

It helps you identify what your goal is and what you need to do, the mental repeatition helps you concentrate and remind you want is on your to do list.

Like writing down your goal on a piece of paper, it helps.
 
too often people say prayers as if they are running off thier grocery list to God, and he should just take care of it. or a wish list.

the answer you seem to be looking for seems to be "yes I prayed and a brand new car fell out of the sky with my name on it"

I've prayed to be able to continue living peacfully with my roommate, because my roommate was pissing me off... well, things didn't get better, they got worse, and I was forced to learn patience. But I did make it through my time with that roommate. Did God answer my prayer? I believe so, and he helped me be more capable of taking on the next challenge. Rather than smiting the roommate where he stood, I was the one that grew

(I'm sure there are plenty of people that have had a hard time with there roommates, and gotten through it without prayer. :shrug; I doubt there will be an answer in this thread that will be 'acceptable' to your criteria)
 
People will always be happy to tell you that the results they saw were due to divine intervention thanks to the act of prayer, but this is never more than belief. Prayer is nothing.
 



Seriously, if there is a god, do you think he'd allow rape, murder, genocide... and then answer your prayer about problems with a roommate?
 
I prayed that everything would be okay between my.. ahem, ex-girlfriend and I.

Screw praying.

My prayers often go unanswered, most of them are for selfish reasons though. But I do have a feeling that someone is watching over me, there were a few times in my life that I should had been dead or badly hurt, but I'm here in one piece.
 
Life is random and senseless.
Good things happen to bad people.
Bad things happen to good people.

God and religion have nothing to do with it and prayer won't stop bad things from happening to you.

no but i hung in there for two years said fvck you too everyone who said i would never get better and made one hell of a recovery 😉

Rape and murder ride along with free will.
 
Yeah, actually, but I couldn't say for sure whether any supernatural force was involved. But I have been extremely lucky in a few instances.

you missed my point. it's up to us to figure out how to approach a problem, we can either avoid it, or confront it and grow. the answer to my prayer was the scenario I was placed in. I grew a little bit, rather than flipping out on my roommate.

A murderer, and a rapist has the same choice. They made much different choices. How they are dealt with after this life I don't know.

Faith, which is a belief manifest in your actions, is a virtue I think that God wants us to develope. If everytime we prayed we were rewarded, and everytime we did something bad we were punished... we would be a clockwork orange. There would be no choice, and faith would be irrelevent.

but you know really at one point i stumbled upon something so essential at my very lowest point and i've wondered if there really might be a God or gods ever since 😀
 
I prayed for my grandmother after her stroke alot. We went to visit her on a Sunday she had been in a comma for 2 weeks and the doctor was giving her very little chances to get out of the comma and moreover ever lead a normal life again. Well the next day, she awoke from the comma and besides some memory impairment and other minor issues she's alright. Belief is key.
 
genocide and plagues and natural disasters probably have a lot of praying people that end up very dead....so i have to say no

what you did is "meditate". you thought about a problem and found a solution.
in my opinion, god had nothing to do with it.
 
you would be better served to erect a large neon sign begging all the God-haters and religion bashers to come in and post.
