Has anyone played those Final Fantasy VI remix/homebrew snes roms?

I saw them awhile back, but can't find them anywhere. I was wondering if they are any good as well? Are they high quality remakes like that homebrew Zelda:link to the past remix(SNES)? That one was fucking crazy....real quality, but insanely difficult. It takes like an hour to get the sword & even than... the average soldier dudes take like 8 - 16 hits to die! But the quality was really good.

I've played some of the translated Japanese RPG ROMs for the SNES, and they were all very good. Got most of the way through the translation of FFV.

If you like the original Metroid, there's a remix out there for that one that's pretty good.

Yeah, I love Metroid... you mean the original NES or Super Metroid?

I really would want to play FF6 remixed though, I've seen something for it before, not sure of they were real "remixes" or just some bs palette swaps or somethin.

It was Metroid X (remix title) - a remapping of the NES Metroid. It was fun to just see that it was possible to redo the game - although there weren't any new features, just a different map. Different graphics would have been cool to see.

Thats what I'm asking sort of. 🙂 I've seen all these different versions on rom website before including Japanese, Euro, hacks & some entitled "remixes" or "enhancements", etc... I'm just going to dig into this further & see what I can find. It was funny because I went to jsut go look @ a couple rom sites & there weren't any Final Fantasies @ all, but it had pretty much EVERY other title for that system. Even from Squaresoft.

The Zelda remix was this CRAZY ASS diffiucult shit... but I mean, the graphics, enemies, dungeons, eveything, was laid out COMPLETELY different, but it was done perfectly.I only played for about 2 hours, as it was frickin impossible, but I might go back into it to try & complete. I was hoping someone did this with FF6, as this is such a badass game for the SNES & I would definitely play through it.

I'm gonna go look for these roms right now & maybe post them up on here. BBL

Ok I found a pretty nice list of HACKS for FFVI which is pretty much what I was looking for.

These are almost exactly what I was looking for. I kinda just wanted some already patched/hacked roms to just load up & play, but I wanted a more difficult FF6 to play. FF's are always way to fucking easy. that & some have new items, enemies & you can use general leo, etc.

Metroid Zero Mission for the GBA was a sweet remake of the original Metroid.

Ok I've been playing FFVI hacked with "ffusht" using IPSWin 2.0 to hack the original FF3US rom. It's fucking hard... The enemies hit very hard, spellcasts are high as shit, & I accidently hit the 1st boss's shell with an attack & he obliterated my party in one shot. Looks like this will be pretty good.
