Has anyone played around with a "speed strip"?

what processor do you have?
I cant see the use of it cause I m able to achieve those settings from my bios directly with the same processor
the speed strip is reducing the multiplier and allowing to increase the fsb
cant you increase your fsb directly from the bios?

2500 Barton, (locked multi)

The strip shorts the multiplier enable pin to ground which unlocks the multiplier. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience playing around with it. I was specifically curious about how well it fits under the processor and whether or not it caused any cooling problems.

Interesting concept, and may just beat any wire tricks. Who's gonna guinea pig for it?

i don't think this unlocks the current athlons. i think what this does is it unlocks athlons just like how most motherboards unlocks its processor, an example is abit's 5bit FID technology

Well, it says it works with the Tbred and Barton cores. I am really tempted to get this, as my 2500+ (locked) maxes out at 182 FSB because of my 8RDA board. I need to do the VDD mod, but don't really want to screw the board up.

[Edit]: Nevermind, as Hytek mentioned, the strip doesn't work with the new factory-locked Barton's. :(

What exactly does the 5bit FID do? I just ordered the NF7-S.

5bit FID (Frequency ID)
By ABIT 5-bits FID Override technology, users can get variety of CPU over-clocking sets. Alot of help. :) So can this change the multi in locked cpu's ?
