Has anyone modified their GeForce to get better 2D?

I did it to my TNT2 and was not blown away by the results. Text sharpend up a bit, but the color and overall image quality still look washed out. Thinking about doing the mod on my GeForce256 but not sure it is worth the effort.

I don't think any mod will make these cards look as good as my Matrox G100 or my ATI Radeon.
