I have 2 computers networked. The kids and I would like to play D2 over the network. I made a copy with Clone Cd/Clony. When I put the copy in the cdrom it kept asking for the "Play disc". Any suggestions? Thanks!
Yeah you have to use clonecd and read the data subchannels..so if your burner or reader cant do that...you are screwed and may as well just install the game and use the no cd cracks.
I tried making one before with my Plextor 8x4x32 which I'm pretty sure supports subchannel stuff, but even when I had those clicked the copy didn't work. I hear that there are databases to addon to clonecd that set the correct settings depending which game you select and it works. I need a copy (original is getting a bit scratched) but I think I'll just kick it old school with a nocd cause my damn cd always spins up when I kill a boss so when I'm partied the cd spins up and they all take the items so I can't snake htem.

the orignal diablo 2 is protected by securerom.. you don't need any clonecd addon(they are for safedisc 2 and other newer cd protection) to burn diablo2 original, even the version 1.x clonecd works.. you might wanna try to read and write the cd at 4x, if you can't make a good copy when you read/write the cd at full speed..
setting for clonecd
option for reading:
check on both 'read subchannel ....' option
option for write
no option needed to be checked
i used the same option as i posted above to make a couple working copied.. i read the cd at 32x and write at 8x.. i had a sony 8x4x32 burner..
Holycow, when I tried to run a backup copy of Ground Control, which uses securecom, the backup wouldn't work. After installing Daemon Tools, and running the secrecom emulator, it worked fine.
If you're still having trouble, why don't you get a copy of the expansion pack, Lords of Destruction instead. It adds to the gameplay, and should copy better than Diablo 2. I also had problems with the original discs, but CloneCD handled the expansion pack's disc quite well.
