Has anyone listened to Yngwie Malmsteens Concerto for Electric Guitar?

It's a few years old but it's Yngwie with a small orchestra. The credits says that he composed everything! I know many people hate Yngwie but I think he is an extremely talented musician. My Mom wants a copy of this CD! Then I told her it was Yngwie and she couldn't believe it.

Just curious

Hehe, he is a swedish virtuoso guitarist that started the genre of neoclassical metal, although some people say Randy Rhodes started it... it's hard to say. He is heavily influenced by the classical composers Vivaldi and Paganini... if you like them and you like metal, you will love Yngwie (pronounced 'ing - vay')

Yngwie is awesome. i grew up listening to Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and both musicians were influenced by Yngwie. (although some say it's the other way around) still, i don't know if he can keep up with Satriani's speed.

listening to yngwie right now, and i can tell you yngwie would have no problem matching satch's skill. i think satch is overrated anyway. surfing with the alien is a piece of crap.

I thought this thread was going down into the depths of hell :), yeah Yngwie has an attitude but that doesn't mean he is an awesome musician. I like his cynical view on the music industry... I remember reading a guitar world or something where they played a song for him and he had to critique it... he knew some popular stuff like Dream Theater and Primus! I love how he criticized Mike Portnoy of being too Neil Peartish :), I rolled on the floor when I read that.
