Has anyone here tried acupuncture?

I am trying acupuncture in an effort to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches and I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with acupuncture.

After four treatments I haven't noticed any difference, except feeling a little like a pin cushion.

I read about a study where they gave one group acupuncture and gave another group fake acupuncture (where the needles were just placed randomly). Completely the same results.

I did...as soon as the first needle got stuck in my ass, it deflated.

(At least that's the excuse I used for the sudden release of air down there )

Wife has a herniated disk .. western docs wanted to peform operation. The pain was so bad that she literally cried getting out of bed and she need help to sit up in bed.

Now back is almost normal, not perfectly healthy but she is able to be comfortable and not nearly the pain it once was. her back is acting up again (just had a baby) and she has started back with the acupuncture.

I saw her MRI, a layperson could look at it and tellthat her back was in bad shape and could easily pick out exactly where the bad disk was.

I never really believe in acupuncture until i saw the results that my wife had.

Also just think of it as a "old time remedy", it won't work fast usually but for many people it works.

Went to 5 session when I first got Bells Palsy, absolutely no change. It's a scam. The accupuncturist wanted me to continute going for 12+ session at $60 a pop even though he told me I would see results within the first couple. It's a scam, and it's a rip off. Don't do it. Seven months later I still have Bells Palsy.

There's this spot in your ear that gets you sort of high, spacey and relaxed. My mom's friend claims 13 "acupuncture babies" who were conceived after she treated their mother's. I think the quality level of the practitioners varies widely because of a lack licensure/official education and credentials.
