Has anyone here made a label claim on a part?

Toyota sold us a defective part (brand new), so we had to diagnose it and it cost a ton of money at the electrician. A guy who we know that owns a parts store says that I can make a label claim and toyota will pay us some of the cost of the electrician.

Any tips or advice on how to go about this?
