I can get the network up, and I can ping other systems, but the DNS isn't
set up.
If you really want to mess with an experimental OS, try Atheos. At least Atheos works, and serves itself at www.atheos.cx. (The web server is running Atheos.)
At this point, the Hurd should be considered pre-Alpha. Don't waste your time on it.

Well, I'm interested in developing for it. Helping to port over programs and such.
