I have never seen or heard of this before. After entering the BIOS, the screen flashes. Strobes might be a better word for it. It rapidly pulses on and off.
Wow, never heard of this either. Try flashing the BIOS to the latest version, but if that doesn't work, I would think there is something very seriously wrong with your motherboard.
I should have tried the CMOS already as I frequently suggest it here to others. Thanks for making me take my own advice. I also have another video card I can try. Thanks for that suggestion too.
Atheus, it's on the latest BIOS but I can still flash it. I'm thinking motherboard too. But you both have given good advice that I will explore.
Could it be you have an LCD monitor and it's having trouble displaying the BIOS' res/refresh? I know some 'flash' quite a bit during POST/OS startup. Maybe try playing with the settings in the monitor on-screen display or checking it with a different monitor?
There are two computers sharing this same monitor through a KVM switch. The other computer does not do this. I can navigate through the BIOS and change settings if I want then save them, all the while the strobing is going on.
I hope to get a chance to do some serious troubleshooting today or perhaps tomorrow.
