I have a replacement driver's side window regulator and door handle assembly I am think of trying to install myself. Is it pretty straight-forward? I assume the window will have to be removed, is that easy to do and put back in?

Depends on the car. Generally you don't have to remove the window, but you may need someone to hold it fully up while you replace the regulator.

What kind of car? As mentioned, you may not need to remove the window....or it may be easier to remove it. I've replaced hundreds of them, and all the different car models were different. The basic premise of the regulator operation was the same, but actually doing the jobs was WAY different.

It's not hard but it a PITA to put back together because the space is tight to work with.

yeah it's PITA. I tried to do that on my dad's Ford Tempo, and after I removed the door panel and found where the regulator is located at, I said forget it.

Ah, the good old ford window regulator trouble huh?

Yeah you're going to need someone to help you hold it up and replacing it is a PITB because of the tight spaces but taking off the door panel requires nothing more than simple tools, nothing more complex than a torx bit. It's straightforward and easy, just make sure you've got some torx bits and a 1/4 inch drive ratchet and some patience.
