Has anyone here ever heard of a 2-stroke lawnmower?

Lol, all the lawnmowers my parents had when I was growing up were two-stroke. I think I was in high school before they got a four stroke one.

I use to have one and let me tell you dumping that small bottle of oil into the gas can was a huge PITA, what the hell is wrong with you people 🙂? The nice thing about the 2 stroke was it was light and you could run it at any angle without having to worry about starving it for oil. Aslong as the engine is able to pull gas through it it's oiled.

I don't know... the weedwhacker I used to use (when I had a yard to whack weeds in) was 2-stroke, but that's pretty tiny.

But mixing the oil and gas wasn't a problem. Getting the (four-stroke Honda) mower running after I dumped the weedwhacker's pre-mixed fuel in was. I made sure to mark and seperate the cans after that.

my father has an old victor mustang 2 stroke....come to think of it his brand new whipper snipper(weed wacker for the yanks) is 2 stroke

Where are you from that it's called a whipper snipper?

I have a 4-stroke one. I can't imagine having to mix the oil and gas.

I have a 1981 model lawnboy, still starts on first or second try, I don't mind mixing the oil and gas at all. 😀

he's an Aussie like Dug777.

😀

We used to have a lawn boy 2-stroke lawnmower. I loved how it would cut through two-foot high weeds and lawn without a whimper. When I got through the air was filled with a mixture of weeds and smoke. Awesome.

Yeah I used to have a 2 stroke. Jeez it's not that big a deal to put a bit of oil in the tank.

BTW as far as I know "whipper snipper" is an Australian term. We call it a "weed eater" over here.
