Has anyone here ever had to file a claim with Federal Express?

This box was in mint condtion when I mailed this motherboard to Asus for an RMA, I even added some extra protection to one side of the board. I mailed it on the 5th , Asus got it on the 10th and refused the package...I was like WTF..
(watching the tracking on Fedex's site I saw it go to from my town to Asus in CA back to my town and back to Asus again....finally today on 12/17 I get it back.)

So I guess now someone has to pick up the motherboard and bring it somewhere for inspection and I gotta fill out a bunch of paperwork.

Thanks FedEx , I really appreciate all your help!! Merry Christmas!

See it here, (even my typed out letter got all bent up, when I mailed this out let me assure you everything was pristine, I cannot even begin to comprehend how the box ever got this beat up)

How Fedex handled my stuff

This has happened to me before (they damaged the motherboard), they paid the entire claim in a quick manner and refunded my shipping costs.

1) Call 1800GOFEDEX
2) Get a claim number
3) Go to the internet, get a claim form
4) Fill out claim form, mail it in

Within 2 weeks, they'll approve your claim, send you a business check. (That's what happened to me in a similar situation)

Just to reiterate:

This kind of stuff happens, but FedEx is great at paying insurance claims

I hope you're joking. They only insure cost for replacement. You usally have to submit proof of value, ie reciepts.

Got my claim number and I am filling out the form, it will go in the mail tomorrow.

Should I send it certified mail?

You have two options that I think are good:

1) Fax it in

or

2) Mail it in, but keep copies of everything

No need to certify it, chances are if there is a dispute on the claim, it won't be whether the forms are mailed in correctly.

> Did you just mail it in the original box or did you double box it?

looks like to me that he use the motherboard box only..

if so, this will teach u a lesson..

u do know how they handle your pacakge ? right ?

I am AMAZED that your board does NOT break into pieces in the trip while the box is tear..
