Well, I went through the procedure today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. One side went just fine, but the anaesthetic didn't work at first on the other side, so there was a little discomfort there. I think my reaction was "GAAAUGH! WTF!?", or something similar. The doctor looks at me with an amused expression and says, "Oh, does that hurt? Let's try to deaden it some more, shall we?"

No stitches. The doctor used some kind of instrument that cauterizes the incisions. The whole procedure took about 30 minutes. That was several hours ago and I thought that by now there would be alot of pain, but so far, so good.

And to forestall the inevitable question, NO PICS!!

I will procreate once more (making for a nice odd thrice) and then I'll do the same. I salute you and yours.

My gf used to work in urology, had some good horror stories. One guy wouldn't stop bleeding, it looked like a massacre in there.

I had it done about 3 years ago. There was no real discomfort. Just take it easy for a couple of days. Don't lift anything really heavy. A friend of mine had it done, and didn't listen to the doctor. He went home and mowed the yard. He said the swelling was about the size of a golf ball. There was some considerable pain associated with the swelling.

Ouch!!

When I was talking about both sides, I meant that they have to cut the tubes connected to both of the ...urr...umm..."0" & "0".

---/ /---0 & ---/ /---0

Two small incisions to get to both.

Mine cost $20. One $10 co-pay for the consultation and another $10 for the operation.

On the otherhand, I can't wait to get snipped so I don't have to worry about the accidental surprise that may come along with that 1% chance after my wife and I have kids

After the fourth kid, I decided to take things in my own hands, well actually put em in the doc's hands if you know what I mean.

No pain and no more worries.
