Has anyone here ever ate dog before? **POLL**

One of my friends is a former Cambodian refugee that escaped his country at the age of 15 and came to America (he's in his 30's now).

He said that in Cambodia in the 70's and 80's, he ate dog about once a week. Culturally it was a regular thing and no big deal. No way I could even fathom it!

Anyone here ever eat dog before?

I'm chinese (though American born) and disgusted by the thought of it. My parents from mainland & HK are dog owners here and would never even consider it. I don't know if they would *like* it though.

I'm sure if prepared correctly, it would taste good. I've never tried it, but given the opportunity, I probably would.

I know a guy who did. He grew up in Vietnam, and according to him it was a normal thing. It was sort of a delecacy, not an everyday thing. He said the small cute ones were the most delicious ones.

Where's the option for Maybe?

This one time in T.J. I ate a Taco off of one of those street vendor carts. It was quite tasty. But afterward, I started thinking about the shanks of meat hanging on the side of the cart. Much too small to be beef. Goat? I hope so.

Lesson here is when you go to T.J. leave your pets at home!!!! :Q:disgust:

updated poll just for you 🙂

when i was a kid visiting my grandparents in the country side, their dog got killed (never found out who shot it) so they cooked it. don't remember it clearly but i vaguely recall it tasting like beef.

It's all relative. Dog is probably a lot safe than the slurry that makes up your standard hot dog. Never tried it though, and have no interest to either. Any French people care to tell us how good or bad horse is?
