Hmm, good question. I know there was something in the appendix of The Return of the King (well my copy at least) that seemed to describe the Elvish alphabet and possibly sentence structure but I wasn't aware of different forms or "dialects". I'm not much of a fantasy reader so perhaps someone of higher authority 😉 could elaborate.Originally posted by: lowfatbaconboy
is there one universal form of it?
or is there diff forms from different books and rpgs and such?

I found a sight with a translation guide and .wav files so I'm guessing that yes, people are out there who speak elvish.

Why the hell should I learn Elvish? If I went to their country I would learn their language. They come here, they can learn English.

Basically:
Olórin - Quenya
Mithrandir - Sindarian
Tharkûn - Khuzdul (Dwarvish)
Gandalf - "common" human tongue
