Has anyone here actually bought a notebook from powernotebooks.com?

I'm planning on getting a laptop within the next 2-3 months, and while Powernotebooks is often mentioned here and has a superior rating at resellerratings, I'm wondering if anyone from the AT forums actually owns one.

I like the sheer power of what I could buy there(for a great price, even), but I want to find out more about the long-term durability of their notebooks.

Powernotebooks.com is a reseller. They move a lot of Sager notebooks which are manufactured by Clevo. Clevo has been in the business for 20+ years, and they offer an outstanding line of notebooks. Sager offers extended warranties thru Phillips at a reasonable price, and the only drawback in no on-site service. Most of their units use desktop P4's, and you can even get a Mobility 9700 in the 8790.

You'd be surprised at the number of companies that sell Sager. Before Alienware redesigned their current notebook, the Area-51m was a Sager 56xx series. PCTorque is another quality reseller that should be considered.

Thanks for the replies.

Powernotebooks.com has a PowerPro line as well. Do you know if these are modified Sagers or if they're from a different manufacturer altogether? Of the notebooks that I've looked over so far, the PowerPro M 5:6 is the best fit for me. The only part I dislike is that butt-ugly logo on top of the notebook. :p

The one with the centrino and mobility 9700 looks sweeeeeet! And one with a 1.4ghz centrino starts at $1400, not bad.

Some of their PowerPro line is made by Asus (Pentium M, 9600 64 MB), others made by Compal (Pentium M, 9700 128 MB, 15" screen).
