Has anyone heard of PCPro Schools?

I went to one of their seminars the other day and got a bit more info. They're mainly focused on IT, it's only a six month program, which is very appealing, the main objective is to get you certified on the top 4 microsoft certifications, which looks good on record, and they say they help you interview and find a job at the end of the program. One huge downfall is that this 6 month program costs $24,500. Of course they sugarcoat it with saying the $ you'll be making once you jump into this career will pay for it. Someone let me know if they've gone through this or if they have any information on what's to come.

You have to be either stupid or seriously desperate to go for one of these. You can easily pass certification with $100-200 worth of exam prep material and $1000 in hardware for hands-on for each certificate (assuming their un-related to each other). So 4 certs x $1200 = $4800. Lot cheaper.

That is way too much money for that kind of program. For that much, you could get two years worth of credits done at a major, credible university, in something like IT/information sciences/etc. Now, I know something that puts you on a four-year track isn't appealing to you, but at the very least consider a credible two-year school to get your associates that will probably cost about the same. Will be a lot more beneficial to you.

You should try getting the certificates yourself before you go to one of those. It's pretty easy, and you can usually find old test questions online. Just memorize those, and it'll be a breeze to pass the test :/

That's like half an undergrad degree at a public university... maybe even more

Is it still ludacris even though you don't have to take all those pre-requisites and english classes, etc. over 2 or 4 years? They teach solely on the IT side of things and towards network admin. I'm not contradicting what you guys or trying to argue I'm just trying to get input.

I did a $600 pc tech class 10 years ago with no certs.

It would be a joke to me to repeat something like that today but it taught me a lot o basics I wouldn't have known otherwise.

But for what they're charging you, you could go to a real college.

Way to expensive IMO.
