has anyone had any good luck haggeling with Road Runner?

the family has been paying 27.99/mo for RR lite, which is 1.5mbps :'(.

i've heard that if you call and threaten to cancel, they will give you full speed for the same price, trying to keep you in the loop?

should i try this, or just pay that price for 6 mbps with ATT DSL?

I have thought of the same thing, they offer all the deals to newbs, but those that have been around a while don't get anything...the worst they can say is no....give it a shot.
