Has anyone had any experience with the hsf that comes with the AMD 1800+ Retail?

In terms of cooling and Noise Level, how is it? Is it worthwhile to purchase a 3rd party hsf and go with an oem 1800+ processor instead?

I have an XP 1800+ with the retail hsf running on an asus a7v-266e. It seems fairly quiet to me and works well because I am not overclocking. Just make sure that you have a good airflow. My processor runs from 48C-57C depending on usuage. I also think Asus slightly overstates the readings but it's better to overstate than understate.

Asus temps, so much as people claim they read "too high", are often still under "DIE" temps ... so sometimes its overstated, but most of the time it is simply closer to die, with slight understatement of temps.

If you don't overclock, the retail fan will do just fine.
