Has anyone had a problem with the PS3 controller not connecting?

I wanted to see if I was the only one, and if there are others..how they resolved it

If I turn on my PS3 with the PS button on my controller, the system turns on..but the controller never connects to the PS3..all the lights on the controller flash and it never stops. It I then plug in the controller to the system, I can use it (1 light on the controller) but as soon as I disconnect the controller, all the lights on it start flashing again and I am unable to connect.

HOWEVER, if I push the power button on the system itself and wait till I get to the menus..and THEN press the ps button on the controller to turn it on and connect..that works...

anyone have this issue? I just got the ps3slim 2 days ago and updated to the latest version of the OS/firmware and this problem bugs me

No, never. I only have issues sometimes with my 360 controller not turning on the system, but I've never had a problem with my DualShock 3 PS3 controller.

Try resyncing the controller to the system?

I've been having problems since the v3.10 update too, but mine appear to be due to the Logitech Harmony PS3 Adapter I'm using for my Harmony remote. Once I unplugged the adapter my controllers started working normally. At least this is what I've observed so far. Do you have any devices around that could be interfering with the PS3's Bluetooth signal?

I checked the official forums and have found a lot of similar complaints there (See Here). It seems there may be a bug in the latest firmware. So my experience with unplugging the Logitech Harmony Adapter and my controllers working may have simply been a coincidence. I'll keep it unplugged and see if I ever experience the problem again.

Yeah, some third party peripherals refuse to connect after 3.10. My Nyko Frontman for example won't. There's definitely a bug in the new firmware.

Happens every once and awhile if my PS3 freezes and I have to hard reset it without turning off the controllers. I assume it's just a pairing/software glitch, once I turn off the controllers and reboot the console normally it works fine.
