Has anyone had a mole removed on their nose?

I was at the dermatologist 2 weeks ago, and my doctor suggested that I remove a small mole on my nose. I was going to go through with it, but after seeing the needle her assistant was going to inject into my nose I declined treatment. I had a few other moles removed for biopsy that day, and I wasn't in the mood for another needle.

I'm going back today to get a mole on my back cut out, so if I want to get the mole removed on my nose then today would be a good time to do it.

My concern is that it's going to leave a scar on my nose. Has anyone had this done to them before? I don't like to take chances when it comes to moles and skin cancer.

I would follow the doctors advice... at most get a 2nd opinion just to confirm

I had a mole on my back cut out. Noticeable scar, and indent "hole" in the skin.

Other moles were "scrapped" off to varying effectiveness. A few aren't visible. Others remain white, raised, puffs of scar tissue. I'm thinking that means a mole that was not entirely removed.

In the next year or so I plan to have a few others taken care of. Thankfully it's not with the same doctor I saw before, so I'm hopeful for more consistent results with the scrapping method.

I've had moles removed though not from my face.

Its a hassle. But my recommendation would be to go ahead and have it removed.

Best of luck,

If you have a history of skin cancer and the mole is suspect, I say get it removed. Several members of my father's family have had skin cancer on their nose. One waited very long to have a suspect mole removed and ended up losing a large part of his nose.

Spike trap sounds like your style. Mine too. Or put out a grub killer and drive them to your neighbor's yard. There can be some satisfaction in that too.

Punji sticks? I like it! I get along pretty well with my immediate neighbors, so I don't want to just get the little digging bastards to relocate...I want them to DIE!

Scars build character. Seriously if needles bother you that much that you walked out, ask the doctor in advance for a prescription (1 expensive pill) to calm you down before hand. Of course you'll need someone to drive you.

I guess your doctor wasn't gorgeous enough to overcome that fear of remembering why you were there. Shame.

BTW, I just had a starter mole removed from the forehead ~10 days ago. The anesthetized the area with a cream and used a scraper. I 'think' the laser they used was to corterize the blood vessel the doc mentioned to keep it from coming back.

So far it is healing nicely. Doc says a month and going by the recovery I believe the doc. I'm 50 and this was my first mole.

Had one removed at the top of my nose between my eyes, twice in fact (it began to grow back).

Can barely see the scar compared to the five other moles I've had removed on my back, neck, and shoulders.

Had several removed when I was in my teens. My mom has a history of cancer in the family, so she wasn't taking any chances. The one on my nose was between the eyes, and left a scar after it was removed but it disappeared over the years.

I had two removed from my back, and from what I remember, they were pretty deep. I had something like a double layer of stitches and when I went back to work, I ended up tearing out both sets. So, I have scars that are both the size of quarters. When people notice them, I always tell them that I got shot, good for a shock and laugh.

I just had to have "Moh's" surgery on my nose in April, I waited too long as well ( I wanted my insurance to kick in to pay for it). It was about the size of one of those add-on pencil erasers but they have to get all of the surrounding tissue so I wound up going 3 rounds and what looked like a honey-badger bite when he was done. I went back in 3 weeks to have a skin graft done to cover it but it had healed so well on it's own the Dr. just left it alone. It's still not fully closed yet and it's beginning to concern me so I might have to make another appt. I can tell you it was quite freaky seeing the cartridge that forms the tip on my nose, I will NEVER again delay treatment for anything suspicious.
