Has anyone gotten the new Nike+IPOD shoes

awful waste of money. you already have an ipod, i trust you have a good mix already made. as for tracking your progress, there are better solutions that cost 1/4 as much.

the software/tracking fob only costs $30. If there was a way to put that into my non-Nike shoes then I would do it. At that price point it would be worth it to me, but not if I had to buy the $100 shoes.

I don't have an IPOD Nano, but I do want to track my progress and it would be nice to have a nice mp3 player anyways.

It's not that expensive...

80-100 dollar shoes + 30 dollar for receiver/chip/software all included and according to the report works quite well.

I wouldn't go out and buy a nano and the shoe and the receiver...but if you need a new pair of shoes and have a nano already.

::shrug::

I prefer my asics, but nike might have good running shoes : P

Id rather buy the Adidas one.

Adidas has something similar? I am pretty loyal to Adidas shoes.

Well, no they're not similar. But they're similar in price as in they're both expensive. The Adidas One's will run you (no pun intended) about $250. They're the first smart shoe. They sense what type of support your foot needs at the moment or what kind of terrain you're running on, and the shoe will adjust accordingly. Something like that.

The Nike one is different in that it keeps stats of your progress (miles run, speed...)

I have an 8GB nano and the sport kit, and it works just fine stuck under the laces of my New Balances. After calibrating the sensor I get stats equivalent to my Forerunner 301.
