neither is quicktime, unless your saying WMP is...

WMP is worlds better than quicktime, and comes fully featured as opposed to quicktime.

mind you until quicktime 7, you had to PAY TO VIEW FULLSCREEN. what kind of bullshit was that?

but other two are.

btw, 10 reasons not to buy ipad
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704259704576033941846942596.html
one that strikes out is whooping 41% profit margin - meaning every $100 you spend for apple product, after they pay off everybody working on the product, $41 stays in apple's pocket.

This is seriously one of the stupidest articles I have ever read.

There are so many reasons not to buy an iPad. This guy only brings up 1 legit reason. No Flash. Thats the only legitimate one on the list.

What is your problem with Apple making money on a product? Just because *YOU* think they should have a lower profit margin doesn't make it so. It may not be for you, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with them making money on their products. Some of you just don't seem to get that.

This is still America, the land of capitalism, right?

u mad? Heck, the PCs I've seen come out of IT departments are worse than off the shelf at Best Buy. AV up the ass, policies, corporate bloatware. I've worked at several large firms and this has been the case at each.

At least with the Macs there's less IT shitware they can install.

Then your IT department is fucking terrible. We had our re-imaged and while the new images suck balls because of all the restraints, they hardly loaded up with bullshit bloatware... well they did put mcaffee on it, but besides that!

No Flash is a benefit. I charged my iPad's battery a week ago and it's still at 80%. Try that with Adobe's bloatware installed. What do I need Flash for? Ads? The 10% of video sites that don't support h.264 video?

lol not having flash is not a benefit. PS 10.1 doesn't really kill battery life on android phones and if Apple would allow it on their products we would see the same.

The reason Apple doesn't allow Flash is their app store never would have taken off. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS.

If you needed flash you can always jailbreak and install it. Google frash.deb

Says the guy who thinks that any product that doesn't benefit humanity is not a smart buy

Anything excess is not a smart buy, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, it just means you can't/shouldn't talk about it like it is.

If it adds functionality, increases productivity and improves my ability to do my work effectively it's not excess its a very smart buy.

Haven't tried any of the flash hacks for the idevices in awhile. Last I remember fucking with it was right before the 4 came out on my roommates 3gs.

It's alot better now. Kills the battery life though so I uninstalled it, it's power hungry crap, I don't need it.

I am so glad you don't run any technology companies. Innovation would never happen with you at the wheel.

Only *you* think their wallet is getting raped. Do you not understand the concept of value?

Read up on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_value_(economics)

Except the value isn't there because other products offer the same for less. This includes hackintoshes, which aren't that hard to build and/or setup. 3 hrs of my time is 66 dollars, well I save more than 66 dollars building my own hackintosh than I do buying one from Apple.

I know the "concept of value", it doesn't seem you do. Of course I would be wrong if you make a few hundred dollars an hour AND can only accomplish the task on a product Apple provides.

Now I'm pretty sure you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. Innovation drives people to use the very minimum to accomplish a job and vice versa.

neckarb, how so? Remember this is now in the context of "value." Since I obviously don't understand the "concept of value."

In the concept of value, the ammount of time I have spent trying to force a windows machine to run OSX competently, without constant crashes and issues with every upgrade adds up, It's much cheaper, faster and easier to buy a second hand Mac, like I did.

Android battery life just sucks in general. Don't worry, power management is coming in Cheesecake, lol.
