Has anyone found a review of the X1800XT vs. the X1800XT?

I have been searching for the last while for this, & no one seems to have done it.
I would guess that the performance difference will be neglible, since with the even faster 7800GTX 512 MB underlocked to regular GTX speeds, the extra RAM was completely unnecessary except for in a few games.

But i would still like to see a comparison done.

Also, please do not turn this into some kind of ATi vs. nVidia flamefest, & please do not try to tell me that the X1800XT isn't worth it, etc.

I can get an X1800XT 256 MB for about the same price as a 7800GTX 256 MB, so how much the RAM helps is interesting to me.

Thanx.

It could be, but considering the X1800XT is over double the performance of the X800XL, it may be a factor.

I'll bump this thread up later, since i already know there are no reviews of this out presently.

i doubt it would help much, maybe in games such as FEAR with all settings maxed out you might see a difference of about 5-10fps.

BeHardware ran some tests comparing the X1800XL 256MB with the X1800XT 512MB @ XL speeds (as well as the GTX 256 vs. GTX 512 @ 256 spd). It appears the extra RAM helps ATI some, despite Digit-Life's article (edit: scroll down a bit) that shows many current games don't push past 256MB even at 16x12 4xAA--with an X800XL, anyway.

Damnit :(

I was actually hoping it didn't have much affect, like in nVidia's case.

I kinda figured getting an X1800XT for the price of the 7800GTX was too good to be true.
While i can get the 256 MB X1800XT for a similar price, it appears it will be outperformed by the 7800GTX, whereas as the opposite is true with the 512 MB X1800XT.
