Has anyone experienced video probs with Sony G400 when switching between two computers?

I have just recently started using my single monitor with two computers and I have been switching back and forth as needed. I have experienced a situation where my monitor has weird blotches on its screen when coming back from a power save mode. Could this be a result of the switching inputs? Or is it more likely an OS or vid card prob?

Forgot to mention that problem goes away after reboot and only seems to happen with windows 98 not linux.
