I know it hasn't been used very long. . .just wondering if anyone has had to redo the pencil connections after establishing a stable system for some time.

Ok, easier question. . . what's the longest you have had an overclocked system stable based on the pencil trick???

I had my cpu unlocked for 2 weeks using the pencil trick. I came home one day to find out my computer will only boot at the default multiplier. So I went to Auto Zone and bought a rear window defogger repair kit and it works great now.

Been running for just over 2 weeks with my 850 o/c to 1000MHz :)
I'm kinda prepared if it does happen, but I hope it doesn't cos' I don't
imparticularily want to take my heatsink off.

As of yesterday, it's been 8 weeks since I unlocked my Duron 600 with a little no.2
graphite overclock key.(yes,a pencil :p ) It didn't work the first 2 attempts I made, but as
they say the third time's . . . a . . . (a real sonofab*tch to have to remove the heatsink again) :Q ahem, I mean charm, (or something).

My Duron 600 has been stable at 900MHz for nearly 4 weeks thanks to the pencil trick.

Personally, my chip gets 50Mhz slower a day after the pencil trick. Still have to check if this is the real cause. just did the window defogger thing. hopefully i can get the 50Mhz back this way.

Paliup - figure it out? I just unlocked my 800 and have it running at 1000 now. I'll leave it here a while and see how stable it is.

Anyone using a pencil to unlock their processor longer that 8 weeks?

Mike
