Yeah, $60 is a pretty significant chunk of change... how did ou find your current apt? I tried looking through craigslist but the selection there is pretty limited.

Thanks for the info about the studio... is it fully furnished? $700/mo is a great price! Feel free to PM me with the manager's info if you'd like... (and is that in West LA?)

i found mine on bruinwalk.com... you can check there, they have quite a few listings. the apartment isn't furnished.. it's in westwood on veteran ave.. about half a mile from wilshire and a block from gayley/montana

i'll PM his info to you when i get it(at work right now).. i know he manages other buildings in the area and he might have other openings

it's the best of the bunch, although for the good apartments you have to figure out when they post each day (11am? noon?) and call immediately.

i still found my apartment just by driving around

i shared a westside rentals account with a friend of mine, but i found my apt on craigslist.

some of them are listed cheap but you MUST look at them because they were frightening inside. the ones in west la aren't that bad though.

Bruinwalk
Daily Bruin
MyUCLA (if you're a Bruin)

Don't bother with anything east of Robertson, the cheap apts. I looked at were dumps

directly adjacent to and west of the 405, south of santa monica blvd is a pretty good and affordable area

I lived at Ohio and Purdue and there were some break in problems with that area
