Has anyone ever taken an Oscilloscope to the DDR3 command or address pins?

I am eventually hoping to be able to make some sort of lightshow using (DDR3 and/or DDR4) memory access as a source. Just to get started in the right direction, I'm wondering if there are some simpler mini-projects in that direction. For starters, maybe, has anyone tried taking a scope to those pins? I couldn't find anything on the u tube on that yet.

I've seen some images on google of this. Signal integrity(SI) is a big deal these days, there are companies that specialize in this stuff dealing with board design for fpga's and such.
