Has anyone ever run a large (50-100+) person LAN party?

Anyone ever run their own local LAN party? Houston used to have large lans back in the day, but lately no one has run one; instead, most run up to dallas. I'm not sure if it is worth the effort, but it looks like fun. Can anyone comment on its stress, rewards, and enjoyment?

do people still play as much as they did back in the day? i've gotten old, but sc\cs\etc was great. most games are now mmporg ;(

Yes, I did one 50+ one. I don't think I'd do it again today, given the high speed connections available.

Small ones at home, yes, big ones at venues, probably not.
