Has anyone ever returned anything at a store and not have their credit card creditted?

I always get paranoid and hold on to the return receipt and check online. Am I wasting my time? I've yet to actually catch a store not posting a refund for me.
 
I returned something to sears once and it took a month longer than I expected, but it was eventually credited correctly.
 
Well, if you get the receipt showing the debit back to your account, then there's not really much the store can do about not posting it to your account. It's basically done at that point, just takes a bit for the banks to catch up.
